Why I Coach
"I love hockey because I think it’s the greatest game and it teaches discipline, commitment & teamwork, being part of a group on and off the ice."
Coaching Approach
"I stress the fundamentals, skating and stick skills, without that foundation kids will not have success on the ice. I stress that they are part of a team, respect the game, have self discipline and a solid work ethic. I tell them hockey is an honest game, you get out of it what you put into it, that you play the way you practice."
Coaching Experience
Coach Kelley brings his passion for hockey and more than 25 years coaching experience to the ice.
"I started coaching youth hockey because my nephew started playing. From there I coached adult women and then coached my two boys once they started as Mites.
At the Hoffman Estate Wolfpack, I ran Mite skills for six years and Squirt thru Bantam skills for two years
When COVID hit, I moved my older son to the Komets as a third year Midget since Illinois wasn’t playing hockey. Then I was a Midget Assistant Coach for his last year. For the last two years, I coached Komets Squirt level."
