Why I Coach

"I love the game of hockey, and I want to pass this great game on to the kids I coach. Each year brings on new experiences with new teams. I love to watch the kids progress and continue to get better throughout each year."

Coaching Approach

"I like to use the approach of practice time is for the coach and games are for the kids. It is my responsibility as the coach to put the kids in the best possible position to be successful in the games. I like to make the hockey learning experience interactive and participative for the athletes. I also like to make sure the athletes are having fun playing hockey and being a part of a team. These are invaluable skills that will translate to school and work situations for each kid."

Coaching Experience

Coach Hazard brings his passion for hockey and more than 12 years experience to the ice.

"My family and I relocated to Southeast Wisconsin in 2012, and I started looking for a place to play Men's League. Our son Max was 3 years old when we got here and he was just starting his hockey journey. I currently serve on the Komets Board of Directors as the VP of On-Ice Affairs, as a way to participate in keeping this organization great. I have found over the years, my hockey friends are always my best friends. Hockey has helped me build some of the strongest friendships in my life. I started playing pickup hockey as a kid in Sun Prairie, WI, where the parks and rec department would work with the fire department and flood the park in our neighborhood.

I want your kids to grow up to love the game of hockey as I much as I do. I have been a part of a State Champion team during one of Max's Squirt year, and may other state playoff appearances."
